Today I had my 36 week checkup at the doctor. I was a little nervous going in as this was the first appointment where I got "checked". I think I was nervous for whatever the doctor said... whether there was no progress or lots of it because we are so excited about his arrival.
The good news is that he is head down (and it's a very slim chance that he will change his position now), I am 1cm dilated, and 50% effaced. The doctor said this is a great start. At least I know my body is doing what it should be doing at this point.
It is also crazy that I now go to the doctor every week, that really means this pregnancy is winding down. Not that I am sad about that.... I am ready to have him here and not be pregnant anymore. I have had a pretty great pregnancy to this point and cannot really complain but I am ready to be able to sleep, breathe, and wear normal cute clothes again.
Tomorrow night we have our last baby prep class --- infant CPR which we are both looking forward to learning but praying we never have to use. Friday I have the last baby shower at work and then Josh and I will go out and buy the few "must have" items that we do not yet have. I am looking forward to Saturday when I will get the car seat installed at the fire station and get a much needed hour and a half massage that Josh got me for my birthday.

Only a few more weeks......
We are getting very excited... only a few more weeks until little man is expected to arrive. I cannot believe we are 35 weeks this week. I am hopeful that all continues to go as well as it has and that he stays in there for at least 2 more weeks so he would be considered full term.
This past week was very busy with preparation for little man. On Tuesday we took the hospital tour which was very insightful. We learned that if Connor were born this week he would not automatically go to the NICU which is very reassuring. We also learned about Kangaroo Care which means that once Connor is born he will be placed skin to skin with me for the first 2 hours (he can be skin to skin with Josh in hour 2). This helps promote bonding, regulates temperature/heartrate, and promotes breastfeeding. I cannot wait to experience this!
On Wednesday we had our 34 week ultrasound which was really neat. The images were not as clear as they have been in the past because Connor is running out of space in there to really move around. The statistics we learned at that appointment are below:
I am getting to the point where I am becoming a bit uncomfortable. It is very hard for me to sleep at night which is a bummer but I guess that is my body's way of preparing for once Connor arrives.
We just cannot wait for him to arrive.... :)

- There was 12cm of fluid which is normal
- He weighs about 5 pounds and 4 ounces, which puts him in the 50th percentile right now
- His heartrate was 136 which is normal

It's all coming together....
We have been working really hard on getting Connor's nursery together over the last several weeks. We have had three showers up to this point and have two more scheduled in the coming weeks. Connor sure does have a lot of great stuff.... some pictures of his nursery are below. Plus I have added a few of his brother Tucker loving on him. Enjoy!
Week 34 and a FUN coed baby shower
We are now entering Week 34 and I cannot believe it. As of this past Friday when people ask when our baby is due I can say "next month" which is hard to believe. We have gotten so much done over the past several weeks and have so much going on in the next few weeks to prepare for our BIG life change.
Yesterday our great friends Alexis and Stefan hosted a coed shower for us. We had a great time celebrating with our amazing friends. I have posted some pictures below..... Connor is one lucky boy!
